Elana received her Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Long Island University, and received her Bachelor of Arts in Theater from Hunter College. She is also a Certified Pilates Instructor, having completed her certification program through Polestar Pilates, which is geared specifically towards rehabilitative applications of Pilates principles.
Elana enjoys working in an outpatient setting, focusing on sports injuries, as well as chronic pain issues. She treats a myriad of orthopedic conditions, focusing on each client individually by performing thorough physical examinations and creating effective treatment protocols. Elana is experienced in working with patients of all ages and physical conditions.
Elana takes a holistic and multi-angle approach to treatment. She incorporates Pilates and yoga into her treatment sessions, as she believes that a mind-body approach is paramount to physical well-being. A skilled clinician, she actively engages in educating patients about their health and how they can incorporate some basic exercises in their daily lives to ease their pain. Elana understands that speedy relief is a highly valuable aspect of pain and mobility management and ensures that recuperation can be brought about quickly through her skilled therapeutic techniques.
Elana has studied theater, dance, and voice, and continues to perform throughout New York City and the Tri-state area. She believes that continued movement is essential to a healthy lifestyle. She is passionate about incorporating different movement disciplines into her treatment and does not believe in a “one-size-fits-all" approach. She believes each patient is an individual deserving of a tailored treatment, which will help them continue to move through all the daily tasks for the entirety of their lives.
